The big announcement coming out of the Macworld tradeshow was not some hot new gadget, but rather changes in the iTunes price structure.  According to USA today, Apple, the maker of the popular iPods, will be instituting an itunes price change.  Here’s an excerpt from the USA Today article.

SAN FRANCISCO — Apple Tuesday said songs on its popular iTunes digital music service will cost between 69 cents and $1.29, and will no longer be saddled with copy-protection software.

Apple previously sold most songs for 99 cents, with copy-protection software attached. (It did have a smaller catalog of higher-priced unrestricted music.) In April, all song prices will change to one of three tiers: 69 cents, 99 cents or $1.29.

I personally think this is great news for music fans.  Especially the part about getting rid of the copy-protection software.  What do you think?  Do you like Macs new music pricing or not.  Let me know and leave a comment.

It looks like a new baby sister for Violet!

The big buzz apparrently is what the celeb couple is going to name the new baby, and the suggestions for flower names to continue the theme abound.

The Detroit Lions just hired a new head coach in Jim Schwartz.  Formerly the Tenessee Titan’s defensive coordinator, Jim Schwartz is known as profesional and preparred.

John Niyo of the Detroit News Reports Jim Schwartz as saying:

"No. 1, I don’t shy away from a challenge, and I think that it’s important in the NFL to have that kind of attitude," said Schwartz, a married father of three young children. "Where we were in Tennessee last year was not where we were a few years ago. And one of the best feelings in sports is turning something around."

In Detroit, that’ll mean rebuilding a defense that ranked as the league’s worst the last two years, allowing a whopping 517 points last year — second-most in NFL history. Schwartz’s Titans, meanwhile, boasted the NFL’s second-best scoring defense in 2008, allowing just 14.6 points per game. Tennessee also ranked in the top seven in total defense the last two seasons.

Detroit has a long way to go, but coaches definately make the team, and although my bother-in-law (an avid Titans fan) will be sad to see Jim Schwartz leave, I am happy for any success Detroit can have right now.  Because they certainly aren’t having any luck selling cars at the moment.
